Airway management and CPR training in one kit
The Laerdal Advanced Airway Solution (LAAS) is a portable training set for basic, difficult and contaminated airway management and for CPR. It is built on the Little Anne base and comes with two Little Anne Advanced Airway Trainers, a contaminated airway system with a training suction unit, and the airway and immobilisation equipment needed to run a session, packed in a wheeled transport suitcase.
Contaminated airway training focuses on the SALAD technique (suction assisted laryngoscopy and airway decontamination). The airway can be made harder as learners progress, so the same kit serves first-time learners and experienced crews, for individual skills practice and for team scenarios. Set-up and clean-up take under five minutes.
Clinical skills
- Contaminated airway management with simulated vomit and blood, and suction with fluids
- Intubation practice, including can't intubate, can't ventilate scenarios
- Laryngospasm, tongue oedema and pharyngeal swelling, each set by its own bulb on the trainer
- Trismus and decreased cervical range of motion
- Head tilt, jaw thrust and chin lift
- Bag-mask ventilation, with chest rise and fall
- Oropharyngeal (OPA) and nasopharyngeal (NPA) airways
- Lung aspiration with direct feedback
- Dynamic left and right lung resistance, with two sliders to give rise on one side or both
- Chest compressions, with CPR feedback through the Laerdal QCPR app over Bluetooth
Who it is for
Ambulance and fire services, civil defence and defence forces, hospital and clinical training departments, and training providers who teach airway management and resuscitation to teams.
The full contents list is in the What is in the box tab. Sizes, weight, temperatures, batteries and warranty are in the Specification tab.
Good to know
- CPR feedback runs on the Laerdal QCPR app. Professional features need a login.
